Approximately 20 homes were lost in a fire that swept through the Wooden House Community near Khlong Toey Youth Center. The tightly packed wooden homes allowed the fire to spread extremely quickly. Khlong Toey firefighting volunteers arrived just 6 minutes after the first call, but communities like this can disappear in less than an hour.
Thankfully, only 4 people suffered minor injuries. Several animals are still missing. This community suffered another major fire just last year.
This incident began earlier. Recovery work is ongoing. Listed here for transparency, not as an emergency alert.
